Executive director, Fishtrap
The account in context
Shannon McNerney, Fishtrap’s executive director, came from Portland eleven years ago. She thinks of the county as one community with its towns as neighborhoods, and of Joseph as the town that benefited from the active presence of the arts. Moving here had its challenges, she said, particularly the remoteness of the place and the six-month winters. From a recorded conversation with the atlas on October 2, 2026; she approved this wording by email on October 14, 2026, and nothing else from the conversation is used.
