The National Register nomination identifies the EM&M at 115 E Main Street and records its construction between 1916 and 1922. Its City and County Intervention section reconstructs a 1935 debate over demolition and the county’s subsequent rehabilitation for apartments and business space. That account draws on contemporary newspapers and commissioner minutes.
Working Homes reports acquiring the building in July 2024. Its project description identifies 27 apartments and six commercial spaces. September 2026 reporting describes electrical and heating improvements, fire-safety planning, and anticipated window work in 2027. Project intentions do not establish tenant savings or the completion of every improvement.
