The church describes itself as “an independent, Bible-believing church” and “a self-governing congregation” associated with the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ of the Restoration Movement, under the motto “Love God - Love Others - Serve Both.” Its history page says it “traces its roots back to February 13, 1893, when 62 members gathered in the Town Hall,” that members cut and hauled logs for a first sanctuary completed October 30, 1898, that a first full-time minister came in 1902 and a parsonage was built in 1911, and that 79 people were baptized in Wallowa Lake in 1922. It records a basement and kitchen added by the 1950s, a 1956 expansion, a Sunday school wing begun in 1972, a new foyer in 1981 and an educational wing in the 1990s. Its main service is Sundays at 9:30 a.m. at 85035 Joseph Highway, and it names Darin Frey as senior pastor from fall 2023 and Shaun Erickson as associate pastor since 2019.
